Tauri Migration

Move or restructure SharePoint sites within one tenant

New site structure by department, an intranet redesign, classic subsites to lift into modern sites: restructure without losing document history.

Short answer

Within one tenant, Tauri Migration copies a site, library or folder to another site with its columns, content types, versions and permissions. One sign-in is enough, accounts stay the same and the global taxonomy is shared.

When SharePoint’s “Move to” is not enough

For an occasional folder, SharePoint’s built-in command does the job. A restructure needs more: creating columns and content types in the destination site, carrying permissions, handling dozens of libraries at once, running another pass on the day, and keeping a record of what moved.

What the tool does within one tenant

  • One sign-in: tick “Same as source” and the target reuses the source address, application and account.
  • Accounts unchanged: the identity table is only used to reassign some authors or permissions.
  • Taxonomy: the global term store is shared and terms keep their GUIDs; site collection term groups are migrated.
  • Structure: the destination library receives the columns and content types it is missing.
  • Folder to folder: each source folder to any target folder, with or without recreating the original folder.

Examples

NeedPairs to describe
Merge the HR and Payroll sitesTwo site pairs to the same target site
Split an oversized siteOne folder pair per library or folder, to different sites
Lift classic subsitesEach subsite to a new, existing modern site
Archive finished projectsClosed project folders to a read-only archive site

Before running, the tool refuses to continue if both connections end up in the same tenant while you described two tenants: a wrong account never turns into a copy in the wrong place.

Frequently asked questions

Do links to moved documents still work?

No: the tool copies content to a new address. Plan to update important links, or keep the source read-only during the transition.

Is the source deleted?

No. The tool copies; the source stays intact until you decide to delete or archive it.

Test it on your own tenant

The 14-day trial migrates 10% of every library, with versions, metadata and permissions. After you subscribe, an incremental run migrates the rest.
